Kenya Holy Hip Hop (KHHH) is a Godly community of Christian hip hop creatives: rappers, DJs, producers, dancers, poets, sound engineers, and content creators. Based in Nairobi since 2017, we equip the culture, advance the Kingdom, and define popular culture in urban Africa using digital media. We are registered as the Hip Hop Hub Association of Kenya.

None of the above. KHHH is a society registered with the Registrar of Societies. We are a fellowship of creatives, not a church (though we are deeply rooted in Scripture), not an NGO (though we do outreach), and not a record label (though members sell their music through our shop).

It is our thesis. The gospel is not just for church walls. We believe Christian hip hop should influence every sphere of society: music, media, education, politics, business, and art. Not by being less hip hop, and not by being less Christian. Both, at full volume, at the same time.

Three distinctives: Scripture (we are unapologetically Bible-rooted), Urban (we speak the language of the streets authentically, not watered down), and Fellowship (we are a real membership community, not just a playlist). The tension between these three is the point.

Our headquarters and most events are in Nairobi, but membership is open to creatives anywhere in Kenya. As we grow, we intend to establish regional chapters. If you are outside Kenya, you can join digitally but won't have full voting rights until an international chapter is formalized.

The best approach is to become a member. Members get direct access to committee contacts. Official social and committee contact details will be published as soon as they are confirmed.

No. KHHH is for all Christian hip hop creatives: rappers, spoken word artists, vocalists, DJs, producers, instrumentalists, dancers, sound engineers, and content/media creators. If your craft connects to the culture, you belong. You also need to share our statement of faith and be willing to attend monthly meetings.

Membership is a one-time fee of KES 1,000. New members pay through the official KHHH Paybill and account details, then contact Hilary to confirm payment and receive a six-digit activation code. Members who have already paid can ask Hilary for their code. The code unlocks the member dashboard; profile visibility, shop, and voting rules may also depend on the relevant committee or feature requirements.

Confirm your email, sign in, and open the membership activation page. Enter the six-digit code supplied by Hilary. Each code is single-use, and the dashboard stays locked until activation succeeds.

Creating an account and activating membership are separate steps. Confirm your email, sign in, then enter Hilary's code on the activation page. If you have paid but do not have a code, contact Hilary directly with your payment reference.

Digital membership is open to Kenyan citizens abroad and international creatives. However, voting rights and standing for election are currently tied to a formal chapter structure (Nairobi for now). International chapters are in the roadmap. You can still get a profile, sell in the shop, and participate in the community.

Account deletion is currently handled by the KHHH committee. Contact the committee with the email on your account and they can remove your profile and mailing-list data. Membership fees are non-refundable.

Yes, active members are expected to attend monthly meetings. It is part of the commitment you make when you join. Consistent non-attendance without communication may affect your standing. That said, we understand life happens, so just keep the committee informed.

The homepage carousel features 6 artists sorted by badge count (OG members, headliners, and verified artists rank highest), then alphabetically. The full Artists page shows all active members. To boost your visibility: keep your profile photo high-quality (real photo, no graphics), fill out your bio and streaming links, and stay active in the community.

Verified (crimson shield) is for paid-up members in good standing. Headliner (gold/gradient shield) is for those recognized for exceptional contribution in skill, reach, or service. OG (purple shield) is for founding-era members, part of the original blueprint. Badges are awarded by the committee and displayed on your profile and directory card.

Absolutely. The role picker on the join form includes: Rapper, Spoken Word, Vocalist, DJ, Producer, Instrumentalist, Dancer, Sound Engineer, and Content/Media. Your primary role (first pick) shows most prominently on your card. You can select multiple roles.

Everything is managed from your dashboard. You can update your photo, bio, city/region, all 8 streaming links (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Boomplay, Audiomack, TikTok, Instagram, and website), and embed a YouTube video. Changes appear instantly on the directory.

Plain or dark background, waist-up, no heavy filters, no logos or text overlays. 4:5 aspect ratio works best. This is the first thing fans see. A real portrait of you, not album art.

Browse The Drop and filter by type (Music, Beats, Sample Packs, Merch, Vinyl & CDs). You will need to be logged in to complete a purchase. Each product links back to the artist who made it, so you are supporting members directly.

You must be a verified member (paid-up, badge active). From your dashboard, add a product with a name, type, price, and cover image. It appears in the shop immediately. You manage your own listings. No approval queue for verified members.

During the beta period, KHHH takes no commission. The full amount goes to the artist. A small platform fee (to be announced) will be introduced when we exit beta, to cover payment processing and site maintenance. Sellers will be notified well in advance.

Payouts are currently manual via M-Pesa. After a sale, the buyer contacts the seller directly (contact info is shared upon purchase). We are building an automated checkout and payout system as part of the post-beta roadmap.

Licensing terms are set by each seller. Most members offer beats with a standard lease (streaming + limited sales). Some offer exclusive rights at a higher price. Check the individual product listing or message the artist. If a dispute arises, the committee can mediate.

On the Events page, use the RSVP or ticket link shown on an event when the organiser has supplied one. If no link is shown, the event's RSVP details are still being confirmed.

Most KHHH events are free entry. Some larger concerts may have a ticket price, and the event card will show "Free entry" or the ticket amount clearly. Events happen across Nairobi at various venues, churches, and outdoor spaces. Each event listing shows the venue and city.

Yes. Reach out through the Outreach lead (see Leadership) or contact us on social media. We are always looking for venues and partners. We also do campus tours and church takeovers.

Verified members get first priority for performance slots. If you are a member, keep your profile updated, stay active in the community, and let the committee know you are available. Non-members can reach out, but member artists take precedence. Big events typically feature an open-mic cypher segment where anyone can spit.

The stated goal is at least one major concert every year. Beyond that, we run cyphers, worship nights, listening parties, and collaborative sessions throughout the year. Monthly meetings also serve as mini-gatherings for the community.

Award cycles are announced at the start of each year. Nomination submission windows are communicated via the blog, social channels, and member emails. You submit through your dashboard when the window is open. You must be a verified member with music released in the qualifying year.

Verified (paid-up) members only. You must be logged in to cast a vote, and you can only vote once per category. This ensures the awards are decided by the community, not outside manipulation. Non-members can view nominees and past winners but cannot vote.

Voting typically closes at the end of the calendar year (31 December). Winners are announced at the following year's major concert or a dedicated awards night. The exact dates are posted on the Awards page and our social channels.

The current cycle is for members only. However, the committee may introduce an "Open Category" or "People's Choice" award in future cycles that allows public nomination. Check the Awards page for the latest cycle rules.

We do not have a formal "sign this document" requirement, but by joining you agree to uphold the KHHH Constitution and our core values (Benevolence, Integrity, Boldness, Love, Excellence). Our core beliefs are: the Trinity, the finished works of Christ, salvation by grace through faith, the Holy Spirit, the church as the body of Christ, the authority of Scripture, and prayer. If you cannot affirm these, KHHH is probably not your community.

No. We are inter-denominational. Members come from various church backgrounds. Our unity is in the essentials of the Christian faith and the culture of hip hop, not denominational distinctives.

The Constitution provides a process for discipline and restoration. The goal is always restoration, not punishment. The committee handles cases privately first. Public scandal that brings disrepute to the community may result in temporary suspension. All discipline follows biblical principles (Matthew 18:15–17) and the provisions in the Constitution.

The committee acts as mediators. Members are encouraged to resolve disputes directly first (Matthew 18:15). If unresolved, bring it to the committee. The Constitution covers conflict resolution and, in extreme cases, dissolution procedures.

Yes. Reach out through our social channels or through the Marketing lead (see Leadership). We welcome partnerships and sponsorships that align with our mission and values. Monetary donations go toward events, equipment, and community projects. As a registered society, we maintain transparent financial records.

Your data is stored securely in Supabase. Your official/government name and email are never shown publicly. Only your stage name, photo, bio, roles, and streaming links appear on the public artist directory. Account deletion is currently handled by the KHHH committee. We do not sell or share member data with third parties.
